Rupert,

Glad the Celestron scope is working out for you!  I have found that having one is very instructive and goes a long way to explaining what is happening on the edge.

Now you can post images of your blades! Wink

I'll put in my two cents for optical microscopes and edge photography in general. A combination of an edge sharpness tester and a microscope is simply unbeatable. Both devices support each other and help to verify or expand the results of the other.  Often the results of my edge sharpness tester will leave me puzzled.  The microscope fills in the gaps and provides  a clear explanation of why I am receiving a particular set of  test results  The two instruments are simply essential tools in my sharpening area and have resulted in a much better understanding of the sharpening process.
