Rupert, thanks for posting this information. This is about as good as it will get for anyone interested in doing a Viel conversion. Through November 14, all items are ten percent off at Penn State Industries. And, the two parts Ruperts has listed are all you need. The total for the two parts is $95. The motor kit is $119, and contains nothing else needed for a Viel conversion. And, best of all, you do not get the unneeded four step pulley which is a real pain to remove.
Our own Steve Bottorff (sharpeningmadeeasy.com) is a longtime Viel dealer. Steve has made a deal with Viel to provide new Viel belt grinders with either six inch or three and three quarter inch pulleys bored out to fifteen millimeters to fit the Penn State variable speed motor. Speaking as someone who paid $150 to have my motor shaft reduced to half inch, this is a major leg up for conversions. ( The $150 included installing a reversing switch.) Steve will also sell just modified Viel pulleys.
The plate to hold the motor to the Viel is most of the way through design/manufacturing.
For anyone seriously planning a Viel conversion, this is a sale to consider. I should mention that PSI has frequent sales.

PSI is presently offering a window of free shipping on all orders over $59 US. This is a good deal if you are able to get through to their service person. (After much waiting, I think there is only one service person.) Parts orders do not go through sales.
Incidentally, Rupert, does the motor come with the three screws, flat washers and locking washers? They have separate numbers.
I will keep trying with PSI. I think the motor kits are temporarily out of stock, apparently a frequent occurance. Nice motor, not stellar service. I think it is worth the hassle.
