I believe what you're seeing is not roll, but burr. This edge is fresh off the Tormek, and I believe my honing technique is not yet consistent.

EDR is indeed a one-click function with my 'scope. My last image was to show that, like focus stacking, one can do EDR manually.

In case you haven't noticed we have a running feud with Grepper over who is the best microscopic photographer of knife edges. We insult Grepper's images and Grepper, being a counter-puncher, insults our's in return. Of course we realize that Grepper's knife edge pictures are far superior to ours but that reality makes little difference to us.

We're taking a new tact from now on with Grepper. We think that Grepper is actually "Bigfoot" and here's our evidence:

A comedian on TV was talking about the apparent poor image quality of all the Bigfoot photos and videos that have surfaced over the years. He offered an alternative explanation for why this is so. He said that it's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is, in fact, blurry. This being the case, seems to us that if Bigfoot looked at a well focused and sharp photo he might think it was of poor quality and in contrast, a poorly focused and lit picture might appear just right to him. We rest our case, Grepper is actually "Bigfoot".

And I always thought Mr. Grepper was just a regular guy. Like he put on his pants the same way I do. Now I find out he doesn't even wear pants.

I am in truly in awe of the amazingly perspicacious insights of Mr. EOU and equally astounded by the superlative sagacity with which Mr. Bud so effortlessly embellished those insights.  I feel at once fortunate, privileged and even inspired to have been able to witness this august conversation between two intellectual pinnacles of human evolution.   While obviously insufficient, I offer you both my appreciation and deepest respect.

I must admit that I am humbled and humiliated in the face of such genius.  After hours of exhausting evaluation I fail miserably to be able to follow the even the original multifaceted and multilayered insight of Mr. EOU, let alone being able to enjoy the deepening of understanding shared by Mr. Bud.

Hopefully I can maintain a modicum of respect for at least being honest.  I am embarrassed to say that about all my limited perception allows me to come away with is a blurry idea that I may somehow be related to or even actually be Bigfoot, and a very disturbing mental image of Mr. Bud putting on his pants.

I hesitate to ask, but if you two mental giants could now take pity upon me and graciously offer some method by which I might un-remember these images I would be deeply appreciative.

I will give a more complete answer to your post Mr. Grepper just as soon as I find my dictionary. A little hint would help though. Was what you said about me good or bad?

Only good Mr. Bud.  Only good. Smile

Sorry if my post was confusing.  It’s just that as I was composing it I suddenly discovered I was sans pants!  I became so distracted that it made blurry my thoughts and ability to write clearly.
