I wish I could find a belt that stayed sharp. That cutting action of a nice new sharp belt is especially important when trying to obtain a toothy edge.
Part of my problem with ceramics and zirc belts is that I use very little pressure when sharpening. I think what is happening that the light pressure tends to smooth the sharp edges of the abrasive but it is not enough to fracture it so it stays sharp and self-sharpens.
I've heard that grinding with some pressure with hard steel will fracture the abrasive and refresh the sharpness. I haven't tried it yet but I will. I love a nice, sharp belt!
I have not tried the Blaze belts, but I know a lot of folks like them. Guess I'll have to give them a shot.
Thanks Mr. Rupert.
